Development of an innovative noise generation system for turboprop aircraft fuselage testing

Abstract This paper presents the development of a cabin noise testing equipment that will be used to evaluate interior regional aircraft as well aid reduction techniques. The innovative generation system consists three loudspeaker arrays positioned around fuselage circumference synthesize pressure field is similar seen by during flight. acoustic generated loudspeakers measured number microphones scattered on surface. These microphone signals are then fed back controller with purpose minimising error between target and one means an iterative learning approach. location in control loop selected through pre-test optimisation analysis, which aims reduce time cost set-up. A small-scale electroacoustic demonstrator has been built develop feedback frequency domain multi-input multi-output replicate random turbulent boundary layer excitation. multi-harmonics propeller induced excitation added histories broadband using waveform replication technique. Different arrangements driving signal distribution investigated, results presented terms accuracy reproduction.
